2 King's Bench Walk
2 King's Bench Walk, Barristers’ chambers, have been practising for 52 years from the Temple in the heart of legal London. There are currently more than 50 members of Chambers, including three Queen's Counsel, two Treasury Counsel and 9 Recorders of the Crown Court. Anthony Donne, QC was Leader of the Western Circuit until 2004.
Timothy Mousley QC became head of Chambers in 2006 following substantial restructuring.
We are the only set of Chambers predominantly based on the Western Circuit to count two Treasury Counsel amongst its members.
The work that members of Chambers undertake is derived from Western Circuit solicitors, solicitors in London and firms elsewhere in England. Recent recruitment and expansion has meant an ever increasing presense in London and in the South East. We provide a well established service on the Circuits and are well regarded by specialist criminal firms based in London. We have a strong basis in excellent advocacy and advisory work.
A wide variety of work is undertaken in the criminal and civil fields in all courts, from the District Judge’s Chambers, County Court, Master’s Corridor and High Court to the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Courts all the way to the Court of Appeal and House of Lords.
Criminal work consists of the most serious offences, such as multi million pound frauds, drug importations, murder and manslaughter all the way across the spectrum to road traffic matters.
In the civil field, members of Chambers undertake work including multi million pound negligence and personal injury actions, the full range of family law and children matters as well as a variety of cases in the Family Proceedings and County courts.
In addition to the professional work undertaken by members, Chambers take the educational function of Chambers very seriously through our pupillage scheme which awards well funded pupillages both in London and on Circuit. Please select the pupillage area tab for more details. We are also pleased to offer mini-pupillages for those interested in a career at the Bar prior to qualification.
Chambers has a number of accredited pupil masters, and in addition members regularly lecture at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice and other academic institutions as well as contribute to Legal Journals on a wide variety of topics.
Chambers was awarded Quality Mark in 2000.
